The parable of the Sower and the Mustard Seed is found in three gospels - Matthew, Mark, and Luke. In this parable Jesus uses the tiny mustard seed to teach his followers that from small things big things grow. In the parable he tells them that the mustard seed grows into a huge tree protecting the birds. Mustard seeds are tiny and do grow into large bushes, but not trees. This is a metaphor for the Kingdom of Heaven – If we all spread God’s love extraordinary things will follow. ... See MoreSee Less

We celebrate the election of Robert Francis Prevost, who chose the name Leo XIV, as the 267th leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
His opening words were "Peace be with all of you!" The 69-year-old pontiff said he wanted his message of peace to "enter your hearts, reach your families and all people, wherever they are."
Pope Leo is known to share some of the same priorities as Francis, particularly when it comes to the environment and outreach to migrants and the poor.
Prayer for Pope Leo XIV
Faithful God,
You guide us on the path of life
and your goodness is our constant companion.
Be with our new Shepherd, Pope Leo XIV,
in his service of the Church.
Fill him with the power of your Spirit,
the peace of your presence
and the compassion of Christ.
May he walk with you,
in wisdom and humility,
and lead us together
towards a world of peace,
for all God’s people.
Amen.

Andrew is a liturgical musician who performs across Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada. We use a lot of his music in our liturgical celebrations and the students love it when he comes to visit. ... See MoreSee Less
